DESCRIPTION:It’s here once again: FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! \n\n\n\nWe will be open extra early at 11 to give out FREE COMICS all day long! Plus come for sales\, surprises\, and special guests! Come early because free comics are first come first served! As usual\, masks are required. We have some available but of course it’s always best if you bring your own! \n\n\n\nGuest Signing Schedule\n\n\n\n\nDana Simpson – 11am to 2pmForetold by Bill Watterson himself\, Dana Simpson is a woman who draws a comic strip about a little girl and her magical friend. Best known for Phoebe and Her Unicorn\, those of us of a certain vintage may know her better from Ozy and Millie. We’re happy to have Dana here signing her books from 11 to (at least) 2! We’ll have copies of Phoebe and Her Unicorn (all 21 volumes)\, Ozy and Millie\, and the Eisner-nominated anthology The Out Side for purchase at Outsider if you don’t happen to have your own yet. \n\n\n\n\n\nJordan Alsaqa – 11:30am to 1:30pmSeattle-based Palestinian-American Jordan Alsaqa is best known for his Cooking With Monsters series\, an excellent queer YA culinary combat manga series that combines exciting shonen action with ridiculous cooking manga tropes\, set in a magical school without a straight white teen boy as the lead. We’re excited to have Jordan back at Outsider to introduce new readers to his awesome series! \n\n\n\n\n\nColleen Frakes – 1:30pm to 3:30pmBorn and raised in Washington\, Colleen is a Seattle-based comic write and artist that has been making webcomics\, zines\, and print comics for decades. Local indie comic fans may be familiar with her comics Iron Scars\, Woman King\, Tragic Relief\, or her recent traditionally published all ages graphic novel Knots. Colleen was part of our first Zine Fest! and we’re glad to have her back! \n\n\n\n\nSales and Specials\n\n\n\nSIFF Ticket Giveaway – We’ll be giving away 3 pairs of tickets to SIFF screenings! \n\n\n\n$1 Back Issues – ALL single issue comics from 2024 or earlier is ONE DOLLAR! \n\n\n\nHalf Price New Comics – ALL single issue comics from 2025 is HALF PRICE! \n\n\n\n$5 Clothing Sale – We’re discontinuing boutique clothing so they’re all $5! \n\n\n\n$5 Neil Gaiman Sale – We’re tired of staring at the Neil Gaiman Containment Zone and nobody’s buying them even at 30% off so all Neil Gaiman trades and paperbacks are $5! DESCRIPTION:It’s once again almost time for FREMONT TRICK OR TREAT! We\, like dozens of other businesses in the Fremont neighborhood\, will be giving out free candy for kids (costumed and accompanied by adult please) from 3 to 6 on 10/31. But\, adults\, don’t fret! We’ll be giving away free comics to kids and teens and adults as well! Plus we’ll turn the Halloween Vibes up once 6 PM hits for a spoopy comic shop party. (Feel free to come in costume and vibe/dance!)
