The store cats are two years old today!
Anyway, I guess this is a good time to mention that we do in fact have store cats now! Magpie and Stellar’s Jay now live at the shop and have an infinite supply of boxes to sit in. They’re even on the official staff page with job titles befitting their benefits package (wet food and treats).
While we do have to keep the cats in the back whenever we have the front door or garage door open—we are working to get A/C installed but it’s looking like it won’t be ready until next year—and whenever we have a big event going on you can expect to see them roaming and/or loafing around the shop often. Feel free to say hi to them and give them Attention if they want it!
Allergy / Accessibility
If you would prefer cats to not be in the space while you’re here and they’re out, let us know and we’ll herd them into the back while you’re here. Community members with cat allergies have let us know that with all the air filtration and the masking requirement they have had no problems with being in the same room as the cats or a space that cats were in just minutes ago, but of course everyone is different and we’ll do our best to accommodate folks!
Pet Policy Update
We will not be changing our pet policy as of now but if you do have a dog or other pet with you and the cats are out we’ll ask you to wait a minute while we move the cats to the back before you come in since Magpie really does not like animals besides her brother.
